If you find the Facebook ticker on the right sidebar annoying, there’s a reason for you to be cheering! Even I find the Facebook ticker distractive if not annoying. Whenever I was out there replying to my friend’s Facebook status, some one else’s update flashed on the Facebook ticker and I went to reply it as well. I realized that I was wasting more time and thus I decided to get rid of the Facebook ticker!
Here is how you can remove Facebook ticker in less than a minute. I have mentioned here 2 add-on’s / extensions that allow you to remove the Facebook ticker while browsing Facebook using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
Remove Facebook Ticker On Chrome
1. Visit this link.
2. Install Hide Facebook SideBar Ticker extension from the above link.
3. By default Hide Facebook SideBar Ticker will be enabled. If Hide Facebook SideBar Ticker is not enabled by default, enable Hide Facebook SideBar Ticker by Options -> Tools -> Extensions -> Enable
4. That’s it. You have successfully removed the Facebook ticker!
The above trick to remove Facebook ticker naturally only works on Google Chrome. If you want to remove Facebook ticker on Firefox, follow the below tutorial.
Remove Facebook Ticker On Firefox
1. Install Greasemonkey Firefox add-on from here.
2. Install Remove Facebook Right-Column from here.
3. After installing both of them, enable them if they are not enabled automatically and restart Firefox.
4. The Facebook ticker will be removed.
Unlike the above Google Chrome extension, this add-on for Firefox removes the entire right sidebar including even invitations, friend’s photos, birthdays, etc. So make use of this add-on carefully and if you are sure that you want to remove Facebook ticker and along with it the entire Facebook sidebar!
